We trade as Record Title & Abstract and have been in business since 1984 in Washington County, Maryland.  We are a traditional real estate closing business offering real estate closing and settlement services.  We are a licensed title insurance agency and offer other related title search services such as UCC searches, Bankruptcy and judgment searches.   To date we have closed over 10,000 real estate transactions here in Washington County effecting titles throughout the State of Maryland.   We have provided title insurance policies for every mortgage lender in the region and most national lenders.  Our services extend to out of state lenders and provide to them a local entity to conduct and handle their real estate settlement needs.  We also have assisted and provided closing services for all of our county real estate brokerages, mortgage lenders and banks.  In addition to a wide range of closing services we are the first to offer, at a nominal cost, to out of state sellers filing services for the refund of the Maryland withholding tax collected on the sale of non-exempted real estate.  RT&A, Inc. is licensed by the State of Maryland Insurance Commissions as a title insurance agency; our officers and staff are insured for errors, omissions, fidelity and surety as required by law.  We are seasoned professionals with over 100 years in combined experience in the real estate closing industry.   Our motto is “Exceptional Service at Reasonable Cost”.

The Wilson Group was founded by Robert T. Wilson a life long resident of the State of Maryland and since 1979 living in Western Maryland.  Robert is a practicing attorney in the State of Maryland and was admitted to practice in December 1970; is currently a licensed real estate broker, a licensed title insurance agent, a member of the United States Bankruptcy Court, United States District Court, and the United States Tax Court.  His pre-law training was in tax and accounting graduating from Southeastern University in 1967, and University of Baltimore, Mt. Vernon School of Law in 1970.  His life long vocation has always been in the banking, real estate and law businesses, with over 47 years experience in the real estate closing and title insurance business.
